GAME NOTES: Coming off their first home loss of the season, the George Washington Colonials take to the road to battle the Richmond Spiders in an Atlantic 10 Conference clash at the Robins Center.

After claiming wins in its first 12 games at the Smith Center, George Washington fell in a 67-61 final to Massachusetts on Saturday. The loss was the second straight for the Colonials, who are still a healthy 19-6 overall, including 7-4 in conference play. They are tied with the same Minutemen who just beat them for fifth place in the conference standings, with their next contest against nationally-ranked Saint Louis.

Richmond had more success on Saturday, logging an 82-70 triumph over Fordham in the first installment of a three-game homestand. The Spiders have won three straight after a two-game slide earlier in the month. They are 17-8 overall, but have a leg up on the Colonials in the conference standings, sitting in a tie for third place with Saint Joseph's (7-3). They wrap up their string of home games this Saturday against La Salle.

This is the first and only scheduled meeting of the season between these two teams. Last year, Richmond earned a 73-64 victory in the lone matchup of the campaign. GW won the two matchups prior, and leads the all-time series, 49-31,

Kendall Anthony scored 24 points to pace four players in double figures in Richmond's recent win over Fordham. The Spiders connected on an impressive 51.9 percent of their shots from the floor, and outscored the Rams, 23-7, off of turnovers, making up for a 37-25 deficit on the glass.

Anthony (15.9 ppg) has really had to step his game up since Richmond lost leading scorer Cedrick Lindsay (18.3 ppg) to knee surgery. The 5-foot-8 guard has done a solid job as the go-to scorer, netting at least 20 points in four straight games in each of the three Lindsay has been out. However, Anthony is the only healthy player on the roster averaging in double figures, with Terry Allen (8.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg) the next-best scoring threat. On Saturday, ShawnDre' Jones (5.2 ppg) was the second-leading scorer against Fordham with 14 points.

In their loss to UMass the Colonials only shot 36.7 percent from the floor, including a dismal 4-of-13 effort from 3-point range. Patricio Garino tied for the game-high with 20 points in the losing effort, and Isaiah Armwood finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.

The Colonials have had to deal with injury as well, with Kethan Savage (13.4 ppg) lost in late January to a fractured left foot. Luckily for George Washington, there are four others averaging in double figures, led by Maurice Creek (14 ppg). Creek didn't reach his normal level of production against UMass, notching only 11 points, while turning the ball over a team-high four times. Armwood (12.3 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.8 bpg) anchors the team on the inside, ranking among the league's elite in both rebounds and blocks. Garino (12 ppg) and Kevin Larsen (11.7 ppg, 6.9 rpg) are also key contributors.

Even without Lindsay the Spiders have proven to be a strong unit, thanks to their offensive balance. GW will provide a stern test, but Richmond should be up to the challenge.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Richmond 74, George Washington 70
