GAME NOTES: The Weber State Wildcats will wrap up their two-game road trip on Saturday when they take on Sacramento State in a Big Sky Conference contest at the Hornets Nest.

In non-conference play, the Wildcats managed to win only three of their first eight games. Coach Randy Rahe's squad has turned over a new leaf since entering its Big Sky slate. On Thursday, WSU coasted to a 76-67 triumph over Northern Arizona, marking its sixth consecutive victory and the ninth in 10 outings. The win also gave the Wildcats sole possession of the top spot in the league standings at 8-1. WSU has limited its conference foes to just 62.7 ppg during its nearly perfect run through the Big Sky.

Coach Brian Katz's Hornets are fresh off of an 84-78 win over Idaho State which improved their overall record to 7-11. Sacramento State got off to a great start and led by 25 points at halftime and never let the Bengals make it a one possession game despite a very weak effort after the break. The win snapped a two-game losing streak and rose the team to a 3-6 Big Sky standing.

WSU holds a 35-4 all-time series lead over Sacramento State and the Wildcats have won 12 straight against the Hornets.

Davion Berry scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Wildcats in their win over NAU at the Walkup Skydome. Freshman Jeremy Senglin chipped in 15 points for WSU, while sophomore Joel Bolomboy narrowly missed a double- double with nine points and 13 rebounds. Berry has scored 23 points or more in five consecutive outings and also produced five rpg and 4.2 apg during that span as well. Senglin has started all 17 games of his rookie year and contributed right away with 10.6 ppg and 2.5 apg. Bolomboy ranks seventh nationally on the glass with 10.9 rpg.

The Hornets' go-to-guy is also coming off a stellar outing as Mikh McKinney scored a game-high 28 points and handed out five assists in the win over ISU. Dylan Garrity tallied 23 points, shooting 4-of-5 behind the 3-point line, while Zach Mills and Jordan Salley both added 10 points for the Sacramento in the first installment of its season-long four-game homestand. Despite playing just 16 minutes off the bench, Salley also registered a game-high nine rebounds for the hosts. McKinney and Garrity typically operate Sacramento's offense, combining for 28 points and 6.8 assists per tilt. Both are capable scorers and point guards, which frequently causes matchup problems for opposing personnel. Mills has started the last 12 games and stepped up his performance to net 10.9 ppg and 5.2 rpg in conference action.

Although the Hornets have a dangerous one-two punch in their backcourt, they do not have a reliable scoring option in the post. Sacramento will need to take advantage of its open looks from the field against the Wildcats, who rarely offer any easy opportunities around the rim. Berry's impressive scoring streak may continue against the Hornets, who will have trouble finding a player who can stop WSU's senior swingman one-on-one.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Weber State 70, Sacramento State 63
