Uncasville, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Dion Nesmith scored 27 points as the Hofstra Pride earned a narrow, 81-78, win over the Hartford Hawks at Mohegan Sun Arena, as part of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tournament.

Zeke Upshaw had 12 points for the Pride (2-3). Darren Payen and Stephen Nwaukoni each had 10 points apiece while Nwaukoni paced the team with nine boards.

Hartford (2-4) was led by Taylor Dyson's 16 points. Mark Nwakamma added 15 and Yolonzo Moore II and Evan Cooper chipped in 13 apiece. Oren Faulk also had 10 points.

Hofstra took a 37-31 lead into the break. Both teams shot 44 percent from the floor in the half but Hofstra capitalized on second opportunities, outscoring the Hawks, 12-4, in second chance points.

A Moore II 3-pointer brought the Hawks within two with 17 seconds remaining. Nesmith then made the first of two free-throw attempts to put Hofstra up 81-78 and after Cooper turned the ball over with 11 seconds left, the Pride held on to win.

Hofstra will face Belmont on Sunday in the Naismith Bracket title game while Hartford will be paired up with Holy Cross in the consolation game.
