(Tuesday, March 4th)

Final Score: Florida State 74, Boston College 70

Chestnut Hill, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Thomas led the way with 26 points and six rebounds to propel the Florida State Seminoles to a 74-70 victory over the Boston College Eagles in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup at Conte Forum.

Okaro White also made an impact for FSU (18-11, 9-8 ACC) with 24 points on 9- of-12 shooting from the floor. Devon Bookert added nine points to help the Seminoles to their third win in a row.

For Boston College (8-22, 4-13), Olivier Hanlan made eight of his 16 field goal tries for 20 points and Patrick Heckmann provided a spark off the bench with 13 points. Joe Rahon contributed 11 points as the Eagles suffered their third setback in four games.

FSU connected on 44.4 percent of its field goal attempts and converted 5-of-7 shots at the charity stripe in the opening period. Although the Eagles knocked down 54.2 percent of their shots from the floor in the first half, the contest went into the break tied at 33.

Boston College shot 50 percent from the floor after the break, but it was not enough as the Seminoles sank 76.5 percent of their field goal tries and outscored the hosts, 13-7, at the free-throw line in the second stanza. The Eagles trailed, 71-70, with 15 seconds remaining in regulation after Hanlan made a layup, but Thomas sank a pair of shots at the charity stripe to make it a three-point margin. Rahon and Hanlan both missed 3-pointers on Boston College's next possession. Boris Bojanovsky grabbed the rebound off of Hanlan's miss and put it out of reach with a successful free-throw conversion on the other end.

Despite the loss, Boston College enjoyed a 29-22 edge in the rebounding battle. The contest featured 24 lead changes, 10 ties and zero total fast break points.
