NCAA Game Summary - Drexel at Northeastern

(Saturday, March 1st)

Final Score: Northeastern 54, Drexel 52

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Scott Eatherton scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, as the Northeastern Huskies rallied for a 54-52 win over the Drexel Dragons in the Colonial Athletic Association regular-season finale for both teams at Matthews Arena.

Along with Eatherton, reserve Zach Stahl also recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards to help the Huskies (10-20, 7-9 CAA) end a two-game slide.

Chris Fouch had a game-high 26 points for the Dragons (16-13, 8-8), who won the first head-to-head meeting against Northeastern back in January but could not pull off the sweep. Fouch was the team's only double-digit scorer on the day.

The Huskies shot just 8-of-28 (.286) from the floor in the first half yet still led by a 26-24 margin at the break.

Drexel put together a 12-1 spurt early in the second half to take a 40-35 lead, but the Dragons simply went cold late in regulation as the Huskies scored the game's final seven points to seal the win. After Drexel missed the front end of a one-and-one for the second straight time, NU's Demetrius Pollard cut the deficit to one on a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left. The Dragons proceeded to turn the ball over on their next possession, then fouled David Walker on a 3-point attempt in the final seconds. Walker made the Dragons pay by sinking all three free throws to complete the comeback.

NU shot just 29.4 percent from the floor but made up for it with a 45-35 rebounding advantage and a 20-6 scoring edge at the charity stripe for the game.
