GAME NOTES: The Washington State Cougars and the Saint Joseph's Hawks will wrap up their stay in Orlando on Sunday afternoon with the fifth-place game of the Old Spice Classic at HP Field House.

Heading into Friday's consolation matchup with Purdue, Washington State had been reeling with three straight losses, including an opening-round setback versus Butler on Thursday, 76-69. The Cougars were able to redeem themselves against the Boilermakers however, as they overcame a double-digit halftime deficit to capture a 69-54 victory.

Saint Joseph's followed up its lackluster 82-65 loss against LSU in Thanksgiving Day's opening round with a strong 78-66 triumph versus Siena on Friday. The Hawks are now 3-2 on the season.

Saint Joseph's won the only previous meeting between the teams back on Dec. 26, 1973, 72-65.

The Cougars could not buy a bucket in the first half against Purdue, as they shot just 6-of-27 from the floor and went into intermission down, 27-17, but they made up for lost time in the second stanza with a blistering .655 field goal percentage to surge past for the 15-point win. DaVonte Lacy was the catalyst in the comeback with 16 points, doing most of his damage from 3-point range (4-of-9). Royce Woolridge scored 14 pints, while Jordan Railey and D.J. Shelton added 13 and 12 points, respectively. On the season, Washington State is neither a bad as it showed in the first half of last game nor as great as it was in the second, as it makes field goals at a 42.5-percent rate for 70.0 points per game, 2.7 more than it allows. Lacy is a bona fide scoring threat, as he pours in 20.5 points per game, while being active from beyond the arc (22-of-56) and the foul line (31-of-37). Woolridge brings 10.0 points per game to the table.

The Hawks cruised to their latest victory over Siena, as they ran out to a 20- point halftime lead and never sweated it from there. They made field goals at 52.1 percent efficiency on the night, including 8-of-15 from 3-point range, and they won the turnover battle by a 17-13 margin. Langston Galloway was the spark plug in the win with 27 points on 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, and he also added seven rebounds, five steals and three assists for good measure. Ronald Roberts was also impressive with 19 points, while Halil Kanacevic notched 11 points and six boards. Saint Joseph's have gotten used to impressive shooting performances this season, as its makes 47.8 percent of its field goal attempts and 40.4 percent of its tries from long range for 75.4 points per game. Roberts and Galloway share the team lead with 18.0 points per game apiece. Roberts does his damage down low, shooting 64.9 percent from the field, while also grabbing 6.8 boards per game. Galloway is efficient from the perimeter, draining 14-of-31 from 3-point range. Kanacevic is a multi-talented forward with 8.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game to go with more than a steal and a block per contest as well.

Both teams have elite scoring options to help carry them, but Saint Joseph's has a deeper bench and more well-rounded forwards, giving it the advantage to capture fifth place.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Saint Joseph's 78, Washington State 74
