Reno, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Deonte Burton scored 16 points as the Nevada Wolf Pack narrowly defeated the Wyoming Cowboys, 61-58, in a Mountain West Conference contest at Lawlor Events Center.

Cole Huff scored 15 points for Nevada (7-8, 2-0 MWC). AJ West recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards, while Michael Perez added 11 points and six assists.

Josh Adams paced the Cowboys (9-5, 0-1) with 15 points and four assists. Riley Grabau and Larry Nance Jr. scored 14 points apiece, with Nance bringing down six boards and picking up four steals as the team had a two-game win streak snapped.

Nevada took a 30-26 lead into the break. The Wolf Pack made 50 percent of their shots from the floor and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc in the first stanza. Wyoming made 36 percent of its field goal attempts and 2-of-10 from 3- point range.

The home team cooled down in the second half, making 41.7 percent of its shots from the field and 3-of-8 from behind the 3-point line. The Cowboys picked it up by shooting 45.8 percent from the floor and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. With 1:32 left Adams made a layup to put the Cowboys up two. Burton converted the go-ahead basket with 32 seconds remaining.

Nevada, which has won two straight and three of the last four, held a rebounding advantage of 35-26.
