Reno, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Jalen James sank a jumper in the final seconds, lifting the San Jose State Spartans to a 66-64 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack in a Mountain West Conference thriller at Lawlor Events Center.

Isaac Thornton scored a game-high 15 points for San Jose State (7-19, 1-13 MWC), which ended a 13-game losing streak and earned its first win in conference play. Jaleel Williams added 12 points and Rashad Muhammad chipped in 10.

Cole Huff and Deonte Burton each netted 14 points to pace Nevada (12-15, 7-7), which has lost five straight. Michael Perez tacked on 13 points and Jerry Evans Jr. notched 10.

San Jose State hit on 43.5 percent from the floor, including a 6-of-14 showing from beyond the arc, in the first half, With Nevada shooting just 29.4 percent in the frame, the Spartans entered the break leading, 33-26.

In the second half the Wolf Pack improved to 40 percent shooting, which was still behind the 44 percent pace set by San Jose State. However, Nevada doubled up the Spartans from the free-throw line in the frame (16-8) to help with the comeback attempt.

Fittingly, a pair of free-throws from Burton with 10 seconds remaining tied the game at 64-64. On the ensuing possession James' first shot attempt was blocked by AJ West, but James collected the loose ball and managed to sink a game-winner with less than two seconds to play.

Nevada outscored San Jose State, 14-5, off of turnovers and 26-18 in the paint. The Spartans had the scoring edge from 3-point range (27-15).
