NCAA Game Summary - Oklahoma at Oklahoma State

(Saturday, February 15th)

Final Score: Oklahoma 77, Oklahoma State 74

Stillwater, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Buddy Hield scored a team-high 22 points to lift the Oklahoma Sooners to a 77-74 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a Big 12 Conference battle at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Frank Booker provided a spark off the bench for the Sooners (19-7, 8-5 Big 12) with 15 points, while Tyler Neal chipped in 13 points in 19 minutes of action. Ryan Spangler registered a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds

Markel Brown poured in a game-high 26 points and grabbed nine boards for OSU (16-9, 4-8), which was without the services of sophomore guard Marcus Smart as he served the second of a three-game suspension for his altercation with a fan at Texas Tech last Saturday. Phil Forte added 16 points and Le'Bryan Nash recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kamari Murphy pulled down a team-best 13 boards for the Cowboys, who have now lost six games in a row.

Oklahoma connected on 42.4 percent of its shots from the floor and scored 13 points off of turnovers compared to zero by the Cowboys in the first half. OSU led by as many as seven in the opening period, but went into the intermission trailing, 39-37, despite making good on 4-of-8 attempts from 3-point range.

The Cowboys took control in the early stages of the second stanza and managed to build an eight-point lead with 11:38 left in regulation. Oklahoma went on an 11-3 run to erase the deficit and even the score at 57 with just over seven minutes remaining. The Sooners converted 10-of-11 attempts at the free-throw line after halftime including six over the final 31 seconds of the contest. OSU had a chance to force an extra session, but Brown's last second 3-point field goal attempt fell off the mark.

The Cowboys finished 12-of-22 at the free-throw line and were outscored, 36-18, from 3-point range.
