GAME NOTES: The Marshall Thundering Herd will try to put a stop to a two-game losing streak when they travel to face the Tulane Green Wave in a Conference USA tilt at Devlin Fieldhouse.

Marshall has lost two in a row and seven of its last nine games, including a tough 60-57 defeat at the hands of Southern Miss Friday night. The Herd are 2-7 in the conference standings this season, five and a half games back of both Southern Miss and UTEP for the C-USA lead.

Tulane ended a two-game losing skid with a 64-63 edging of Charlotte on Friday night. The victory brought the Green Wave's conference record to an even 4-4, which sets them three games back in the ultimate Conference USA standings.

Marshall has a slight edge in the all-time series lead over Tulane, 8-7. This is the first and only time during this regular season the two teams will meet on the court.

Marshall went into the locker room at the half versus Southern Miss up by 11 points, 35-24. But the Thundering Herd couldn't hold on down the stretch in the second half, not only giving up the cushion of a lead but allowing the Golden Eagles to come back completely for the three-point win. Ryan Taylor led all scorers in the game with 17 points for Marshall, adding nine rebounds to his stat line. Kareem Canty netted 11 points for the Herd, and Chris Thomas chipped in 10 points in the loss.

Canty is the team's active leading scorer (an injury to Elijah Pittman, the former leading scorer, has benched him for some time) with 16 ppg and a team- best 151 assists on the year. Taylor is right behind Canty at 14.1 ppg, while also sporting a team-high 7.2 rpg average and a 53.8 percent shooting mark from the floor. Thomas rounds out the double-digit scorers with 11.7 ppg.

Jay Hook connected on a free throw with 1.4 seconds remaining in Tulane's matchup with Charlotte to lift the Green Wave over the 49ers by a single point. Hook scored 18 points in the win with six rebounds, while Louis Dabney led the team in scoring with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. The Green Wave shot 44.4 percent from the field, including 47.1 percent from 3-point range.

Dabney leads Tulane in scoring average this season with 17 ppg on 44.4 percent shooting from the floor. Hook is third in scoring at 14.4 ppg, behind Dabney and Jonathan Stark, who averages 14.9 ppg with a team-high 94 assists on the year. Tre Drye tops the squad with a 6.6 rpg average. Tulane is scoring 65.4 ppg this season, compared to 70.5 ppg the Green Wave allow their opponents to score.

Tulane gets some solid scoring contributions from multiple sources, even if Dabney is swallowed up by an opposing defense. At home, the Green Wave shouldn't have much trouble scoring on a Marshall team that is 1-10 on the road this season and giving up 74.6 ppg to opponents.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Tulane 75, Marshall 66
