GAME NOTES: Rider shoots for its fourth straight win tonight, as the Broncs entertain fellow Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference member Marist.

Secure in the upper half of the MAAC standings with a record of 8-4, the Broncs have won four of their last five outings and are an impressive 4-1 at home in league play this season. On Monday night, the team dismissed Fairfield at home in a 73-65 final.

As for the Red Foxes, they started off the 2013-14 campaign in a disastrous manner, losing nine in a row. But since then the team has gone 8-5 and has put together back-to-back wins recently, thanks in part to a 78-64 victory over Niagara last Saturday at home.

Rider won the first meeting of the season last month, 66-56, at Marist as Anthony Myles converted 5-of-7 behind the 3-point line and finished with 23 points for the visitors, followed by Daniel Stewart and Kahlil Thomas with 17 and 10 points, respectively. Adam Kemp logged a double-double for the Red Foxes with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the setback, as the team shot only 32 percent from the floor and 3-of-18 beyond the arc.

Since the start of the 1980-81 campaign, Rider has produced a 27-22 advantage in the series with the Red Foxes, winning 18 of the last 25 matchups.

Jay Bowie erupted for 31 points, shooting an impressive 11-of-14 from the floor, and added eight rebounds, as he guided the Red Foxes to another conference win over the weekend. Also scoring in double figures were Chavaughn Lewis with 14 points and eight assists, followed by Kemp with 10 points as the team knocked down 52.7 percent from the field and held the visitors to just 38.7 percent.

Lewis, the leading scorer for Marist in five of the last seven outings, is atop the scoring list for the season overall entering the week with his 17.3 ppg, thanks to his 104-of-143 effort at the free-throw line where he seems to be spending quite a bit of time. Khallid Hart and Bowie with 13.5 and 11.4 ppg, respectively, for a unit that is generating just 65.2 ppg and giving up 71.0 ppg through 22 contests.

Considering Fairfield was a team with just four wins going into the meeting with Rider earlier this week, the Broncs really allowed the Stags to hang around a bit too long at Alumni Gym. Were it not for the 21 turnovers by the visitors, the outcome could have been very different, but luckily the Broncs had Stewart (18 points, nine rebounds) to lean on again. Also scoring in double figures for Rider were Jimmie Taylor and Thomas with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Letting fly with close to half of all his field goal attempts from 3-point range, where he has knocked down 39.6 percent, Myles steps up as the top scorer overall for the Broncs with his 17.4 ppg. Stewart checks in with another 15.6 ppg and between the two of them they've combined for 260 made free throws, a huge portion of the unit's 434 total conversions at the charity stripe.

Losing at home to the Broncs earlier in the season is an indication of just how badly Marist has had it this season. This time around it doesn't help that the Red Foxes head to Alumni Gym sporting a road record of just 1-8, a number that should create that much more confidence for the Broncs.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Rider 69, Marist 60
