GAME NOTES: The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are suffering through a five-game losing streak, but will try to end it against the Maryland Terrapins in an Atlantic Coast Conference clash at the Comcast Center.

Wake Forest have lost five in a row and six of the team's last eight games played, including a 67-60 setback against Florida State on Saturday. With a 4-8 conference record, the Deacons find themselves toward the bottom of the ACC with six games remaining on the regular season schedule.

Maryland has lost two in a row and three of its last four games. The Terps suffered a heartbreaking 69-67 loss against then No. 8-ranked Duke Saturday. The defeat dropped the Terrapins back below the .500 mark in conference play at 6-7.

Maryland holds the lead in the all-time series between the two teams, 69-56. This game marks the first and only time Wake Forest and the Terps will meet on the hard wood.

Wake Forest owned a significant lead in the first half against Florida State Saturday, holding off the Seminoles by as many as 16 points. But FSU came back in the second period to grab a lead, from which the Deacons could never recover. Coron Williams scored 18 points to lead Wake Forest, while Tyler Cavanaugh and Travis McKie each chipped in 14 points in the loss. The Demon Deacons shot 37.7 percent from the floor in the game.

Codi Miller-McIntyre, who had nine points in the loss to Florida State, leads the Demon Deacons in scoring this season with 14.2 ppg on 44.9 percent shooting from the field. His 93 assists on the year is a team high, and 17 steals is third on the squad. Devin Thomas is second behind Miller-McIntyre in scoring with 11 ppg, and McKie is third at 10.9 ppg. Thomas tops the Demon Deacons with a 7.8 rpg margin.

On Saturday against Duke, star freshman forward Jabari Parker threw down a one-handed dunk to give the Blue Devils a one-point lead over Maryland with 1:15 left to play. One free throw with under seven seconds left provided the final score of the game, setting the Terrapins back. Jake Layman led the way for Maryland with 18 points and six rebounds, while Dez Wells notched 17 points and Charles Mitchell netted 12. The Terps shot 41.9 percent from the floor in the contest.

Wells still leads Maryland in scoring with 15.1 ppg on 49.1 percent shooting on the season. Wells' 58 assists on the year is second behind only Roddy Peters, who checks in with 61 assists. Layman is averaging 12.2 ppg on the season, and Seth Allen, who has played just 14 games for the Terrapins, is right behind him at 12.1 ppg. Evan Smotrycz rounds out the double-digit scorers with 11.1 ppg.

Maryland has been proficient at home this season with a 9-3 record in College Park, and after playing four of the team's last five games on the road, this should be a welcomed matchup at the Comcast Center. Wake Forest's struggles are largely on the defensive end, of which Maryland should be able to take full advantage.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Maryland 75, Wake Forest 67
