GAME NOTES: The quarterfinals of the 32nd annual Colonial Athletic Association Tournament takes over Baltimore Arena on Saturday, with one of the four contests pitting the Drexel Dragons against the Northeastern Huskies.

The fifth-seeded Huskies endured a very tough regular season during which they won a total of just 10 games, but seven of those came in CAA play which is why they finished so high in the standings. The squad had trouble maintaining consistent play from one game to the next, winning back-to-back CAA decisions only once.

As for the Dragons, they were awarded the fourth seed in the tournament after splitting 16 league bouts. Similar to Northeastern, Drexel won consecutive games against conference opponents only twice.

With respect to this tournament, the Dragons are just 6-12 in the event all- time and have yet to win the title, while Northeastern fell to James Madison in the championship a year ago, 70-57, and is now 7-8 in the event as a result.

In terms of the all-time series, Drexel is ahead by a count of 37-17, although the Huskies won the most recent meeting just last weekend by a score of 54-52 at home.

The winner of this meeting will be back in action on Sunday versus the winner of the Hofstra/Delaware contest for the right to appear in the title game on Monday night.

During conference action this season, the Huskies generated just 64.3 ppg at the offensive end of the floor, but luckily they surrendered only 65.7 ppg in order to keep games interesting. Scott Eatherton, one of the nation's leaders in double-doubles, averaged 14.6 ppg and 10.3 rpg to pace the team in both categories, shooting an impressive 52.1 percent from the field but just 62.8 percent at the free-throw line. David Walker accounts for another 11.7 ppg and Demetrius Pollard 10.5 ppg as the pair combined for 80 of the unit's 185 assists.

The Dragons have one of the more dynamic scoring duos in the conference in Frantz Massenat and Chris Fouch who averaged 19.7 and 18.9 ppg, respectively, during CAA bouts. Massenat played close to 38 minutes per outing and did quite a bit of damage at the free-throw line where he was 98-of-128, but at the same time he was sure to keep his teammates involved in the action with 81 assists. Fouch made good on a team-high 40 3-pointers, but he shot just 39.4 percent from the floor as he and Massenat combined to account for more than half Drexel's 68.9 ppg.

The teams went to double-overtime in their first meeting nearly two months ago and even though the Huskies were victorious last week, Drexel should still have the edge as long as Fouch and Massenat get off plenty of shots.
