Nevada shot a respectable 47.8 percent from the field in the first half and held the Falcons to a woeful 16 percent shooting, as the Wolf Pack led comfortably at the break, 31-18. The Falcons took 18 3-point tries in the opening period and made just one.

After intermission, the Falcons were able to knock down some shots, hitting on 40.6 percent from the field and 5-of-15 from beyond the arc. With the Wolf Pack trailing by two late, Huff scored on a layup with 11 seconds remaining in regulation to knot the score at 54-54. After a quick Falcon turnover, the Wolf Pack had a chance to win it in regulation, but Burton's 3-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark.
