GAME NOTES: The New Mexico State Aggies seek to end a four-game losing streak when they travel to face the Drake Bulldogs on Saturday night at the Knapp Center.

New Mexico State enters the game after losing on Wednesday night to top-ranked Arizona, 74-48. Junior guard Daniel Mullings led the Aggies with a game-high 18 points, marking the only player on the New Mexico State squad to finish in double figures.

The Aggies hung with the Wildcats for the first half, but the size and athleticism of Arizona proved to overwhelm the Aggies. New Mexico State was outrebounded 38-22 and its was doubled up in point production in the paint, 36-18.

New Mexico State has not won a game since defeating Prairie View A&M, 91-60, back on Nov. 27. This also marks the third game of a four-game road trip for the Aggies, who are just 2-3 on the road this season.

Mullings leads the Aggies in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game. DK Eldridge adds 10.9 points, while Sim Bhullar is the leading rebounder with 7.2 per contest. New Mexico State averages 74.8 points as a team, shooting 46.6 percent from the floor.

Drake had a four-game win streak halted last time out when it lost to Iowa, 83-66, on Saturday in the Hy-Vee Big Four Classic. Chris Caird ended with a career-high 21 points, but the Bulldogs lost more than the game.

Senior guard Gary Ricks, Jr. suffered a fractured bone in his left foot and will miss the remainder of the season. In eight games this year, Ricks was the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer with 12.3 points and a team-high 3.6 assists per game, while shooting 45 percent from behind the arc.

Richard Carter leads Drake with 20.3 points per game. He's shooting 47.4 percent from the field for the season, hitting at a 37.1 percent clip from long range. He also shoots an impressive 84 percent from the free-throw line for the Bulldogs, who average 75 points per game and allow just 65.6 per contest.

While New Mexico State leads the all-time series 17-9 and won last year's tilt, 71-55, at home, Drake is on a roll and playing well at home. Carter is probably the best player on the court and he should lift the Bulldogs to the win here.
