Final Score: (2) Kansas 86, Iona 66

Lawrence, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Perry Ellis netted 21 points to lead the second-ranked Kansas Jayhawks to an 86-66 rout of the Iona Gaels from Allen Fieldhouse.

Ellis shot 9-of-11 from the floor and added seven boards as Kansas (3-0) dominated the second half to pull away and remain undefeated on the young season.

"Perry kept us in it early when they could have maybe got a little separation," said Kansas head coach Bill Self. "We didn't play very well early accept for Perry offensively."

Freshman big man Joel Embiid turned in the best outing of his young career with 16 points and 13 rebounds off the bench, and highly touted Andrew Wiggins added 13 points and seven boards. Naadir Tharpe reached double-digit assists for the second time in his career as he handed out 10 helpers.

Kansas has won 65 straight non-conference games at home.

A.J. English paced Iona (1-2) with 21 points in the losing effort. Sean Armand and David Laury chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Iona trailed 9-3 in the early going but ran off 13 of the next 15 points to jump in front. Kansas turned it over three times during the stretch.

Ellis scored five straight midway through the period and Wiggins made a pair of free throws out of a media timeout to knot the score at 23-23.

Selden's three-point play gave the Jayhawks a 41-36 margin at halftime.

Wiggins scored seven straight points for Kansas around an English three-point play early in the second half. Later, the Jayhawks used a 10-0 surge to stretch their lead to 74-56 and coasted the rest of the way.
