GAME NOTES: The Montana State Bobcats will make their first visit to Laramie, Wyoming since 1997 on Saturday night when they take on the Wyoming Cowboys in non-conference play.

Montana State is coming off Tuesday's 77-62 home win over Cal State Northridge. The Bobcats are off to a 2-4 start on the season and are playing their fifth game away from home. They'll return home to host NAIA school Walla Walla next Saturday.

Wyoming is a perfect 4-0 at home so far this season. The Cowboys traveled to Columbus, Ohio on Monday and came away with a 65-50 loss to the seventh-ranked Buckeyes. That outcome snapped a three-game winning streak for the Cowboys, who are back in action Monday night against Division II school Black Hills State.

Wyoming holds a commanding 40-11 lead in the head-to-head series with MSU.

Montana State shot better than 50 percent from the floor in its win over CS Northridge, the first time this season the Bobcats accomplished that feat. They shot 52.1 percent, including 46.2 percent from beyond the arc (12-of-26) and controlled both halves. After taking a seven-point lead into the break, MSU stretched its lead to 20 midway through the second half. Sophomore guard Marcus Colbert was in the starting lineup for the first time this season and finished with a team-high 17 points and six assist to pace four Bobcats in double figures. Colbert leads the team with 11.2 points per game. Fellow sophomore Terrell Brown (9.3 ppg) chipped in with 11 points and a pair of steals, while senior Paul Egwuonwu (9.8 ppg, 9.2 rpg) added 11 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Wyoming shot a season-low 36 percent against Ohio State, including a 2-of-14 effort from beyond the arc (.143). The Pokes opened the second half with a 9-1 spurt to go up by four, but they were out-scored 17-3 over the final 10 minutes and were held to just three made free throws over that span. OSU dominated the glass with a 42-29 rebounding advantage for the game. Junior forward Larry Nance, Jr. tallied 17 points and 12 boards in a losing effort. It marked the fifth career double-double for Nance, who is averaging 12.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks on the year. He has scored in double figures in all but one game so far. Meanwhile, junior guard Riley Grabau leads the team with 14.3 ppg and is shooting a healthy 56 percent from the field and 62 percent from the perimeter.

Montana State may be coming off its best shooting performance of the young season, but repeating that effort against the Cowboys, who are unbeaten in four home games, may prove too tall of an order.
