GAME NOTES: Having lost their last seven games in a row, the Santa Clara Broncos will look to end that streak as they travel to face the San Diego Toreros in a West Coast Conference tilt at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Santa Clara currently occupies the bottom spot in the West Coast Conference at 3-9 in the conference standings, tied with Loyola Marymount eight games behind leader Gonzaga. The Broncos were further set back when they lost Thursday night, 89-76, to BYU.

San Diego has had an up-and-down season, and recently it has been the latter for the Toreros. USD has lost two games in a row, which set the team back to 4-8 in the conference. San Diego is coming off a 74-67 loss to San Francisco Thursday night.

Santa Clara owns a slight all-time series record, 36-32, over San Diego. But the Toreros were the ones most recently victorious, having taken a 69-66 decision at Santa Clara earlier this year on Jan. 16.

Santa Clara struggled to get anything going in the first half against BYU Thursday night, trailing at the intermission, 53-40. Brandon Clark and Jared Brownridge each netted 16 points to lead the Broncos, while Jalen Richard chipped in 10 points in the losing effort. The Broncos shot 40.3 percent from the floor in the contest.

Clark and Brownridge each scored just under their season average Thursday night in the loss. Clark leads the Santa Clara team this season with a 16.9 ppg average, while Brownridge is right behind him at 16.8 ppg on 45.9 percent shooting from the floor. Clark leads the team with 85 assists on the season and 32 steals. Evan Roquemore is third in scoring with 10.9 ppg, and Jerry Brown tops the squad with a 5.8 rpg average.

San Diego did all it could to stay with San Francisco in Thursday night's West Coast Conference tilt, but USF slowly built a larger and larger lead, and had a seven-point advantage when the final buzzer sounded. Johnny Dee paced the Toreros with 18 points in the contest, and Duda Sanadze added 15 points before fouling out. Christopher Anderson chipped in 13 points with six assists, and Dennis Kramer scored 11 with nine rebounds.

Dee leads the way for San Diego this season in terms of scoring, netting an average of 17.2 ppg on 43.9 percent shooting from the floor. Sanadze and Kramer aren't too far behind, with Sanadze checking in at second with 12.9 ppg and Kramer at 11.9 ppg. Kramer's 6.7 rpg average is a team high, and his 21 blocked shots is second on the squad. Anderson tops the team in both assists (144) and steals (40) on the year.

San Diego has had a rough couple of games, but perhaps a matchup at home against a Santa Clara team the Toreros have already taken down once this season is exactly what they need to get back into the conference hunt.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: San Diego 74, Santa Clara 65
