GAME NOTES: The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will continue their homestand at LJVM Coliseum, as they host the Richmond Spiders in non-conference action on Saturday.

The Spiders won their fourth game in a row on Wednesday as they coasted to a 71-60 road decision over William & Mary. Richmond's only two losses came courtesy of Minnesota and North Carolina. Coach Chris Mooney's team will play its first of three straight home games next Saturday versus Coppin State. The Spiders have not been overwhelming offensively with their average of 70.6 points per game, but they have held their opposition to only 63.2 ppg on 39 percent shooting from the field.

Wake Forest opened up its December slate with a 72-57 win over Tulane on Wednesday. The contest was the first for the Demon Deacons since their 1-2 performance in the Battle 4 Atlantis, which consisted of a win over USC and losses to Kansas and Tennessee. Coach Jeff Bzdelik's squad has been tough to stop this season and it enters with averages of 79.8 points and 43 rebounds per game. Wake Forest has allowed averages of only 69.2 points and 35.1 boards.

This will be the 51st matchup between Richmond and Wake Forest in history. The Demon Deacons own a 38-12 all-time series lead, but the Spiders have won three consecutive encounters, including last season's 62-60 victory.

Senior guard Cedrick Lindsay spearheaded the charge for the Spiders against the Tribe on Wednesday with 22 points, six assists and six steals. Junior guard Kendall Anthony tallied 19 points including five makes from behind the 3-point line off the bench in the win. Richmond often relies on Lindsay offensively which has led to his team-high average of 18.2 ppg. Anthony and Terry Allen contribute 11.2 and 10.3 ppg, respectively. The Spiders lack a consistent scorer beyond their top three.

Wake Forest has received a huge lift from its second unit thanks to senior guard Coron Williams, who has scored in double figures in seven straight games off the bench. Williams finished with 18 points and four assists while knocking down 4-of-7 from 3-point range in the Demon Deacons' win over Tulane. Cody Miller-McIntyre chipped in 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. The offense continued to operate with high efficiency. Wake Forest hit on 14-of-25 field goal tries after halftime and shot 50 percent from the floor in the contest. Miller-McIntyre has taken on a bigger role this season for the Demon Deacons and contributes team-highs of 17 points and 4.4 assists per game. Williams is second on the scoring column at 12.1 ppg. Sophomore forward Devin Thomas has also stepped up his play to post 11.1 points and a team-best 8.8 rpg. Senior forward Travis McKie is averaging a career-low 10.7 ppg.

McKie has been a key player for the Demon Deacons since arriving in Winston- Salem, but has taken a back seat to the team's talented underclassmen. Although Richmond is one of the most dangerous mid-major teams in the nation, Wake Forest's balance will give it a great chance of ending its losing streak to the Spiders.
