GAME NOTES: St. Bonaventure hits the road tonight, but remains in the Empire State as the Bonnies visit the Fordham Rams for an Atlantic 10 Conference bout at Rose Hill Gym.

The Bonnies have not won on the road in more than a month, last tasting success at Niagara (74-72) back on Dec. 21. More recently, the team was at home on Saturday and lost there as well, with Dayton getting the better of the hosts in a 72-69 final. The loss was the second in a row and the third in four tries for a St. Bonaventure group that is now just 3-6 in conference play.

Trailing the Bonnies in the standings is Fordham with only two wins in nine tries against the rest of the A-10. The Rams were handed a massive 93-67 setback by George Washington on the road last Saturday, the third loss in the last four games for the program.

According to Fordham sources, the Rams trail the all-time series by a 20-17 margin, although the Rams did snap a six-game slide by putting up a 76-72 win last year.

The Bonnies led by as many as seven points in the first half against Dayton, but then found themselves tied at the break and eventually coming up short in the three-point final at home over the weekend. Youssou Ndoye and Charlon Kloof both came away with 17 points, followed by Matthew Wright who tallied 12, with Ndoye not only shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor but also clearing seven rebounds and blocking five shots.

Sporting a balanced scoring attack that is responsible for 74.0 ppg, the Bonnies have a total of seven players listed who have been averaging at least 8.1 ppg, with Wright at the top of the heap with his 15.2 ppg. Kloof is the only other double-digit scorer with his 12.7 ppg and is also first on the unit with 112 assists in order to keep the offense moving along.

Fordham fell behind 8-0 to start the game with the Colonials and was down by double digits less than five minutes into the meeting, so clearly the Rams were over their heads. Branden Frazier tried to give the visitors a fighting chance as he tallied 23 points on 8-of-20 shooting from the floor, while Mandell Thomas tacked on 18 points as he connected on 7-of-18. However, with the duo letting fly with 38 field goal attempts, that means the rest of the unit combined for only 26 shots for a squad that knocked down a mere 32.8 percent.

Jon Severe, who came off the bench with nine points in the loss at George Washington, is still the top overall scorer for the Rams with his 19.0 ppg, although he has been shooting a miserable 34.0 percent from the field, which is actually below his 37.7 percent behind the 3-point line. Frazier (17.8 ppg) and Thomas (13.1 ppg) have combined with Severe to make good on 130 of the team's 163 3-point baskets.

The Bonnies might not be the most dominating team in the A-10, but compared to Fordham tonight's visitors have more than enough going in their favor to come out with the win.
