Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyreek Duren tallied 20 points and seven assists as he helped guide the La Salle Explorers to a 74-68 win over the Temple Owls in a Big 5 meeting at the famed Palestra.

Tyrone Garland accounted for 17 points and Jerrell Wright 15, while Steve Zack recorded a double-double consisting of 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Explorers (11-6) as they captured a sixth straight win.

The slumping Owls (5-11) were paced by Quenton DeCosey who dropped in a game- high 21 points, followed by Anthony Lee with a double-double consisting of 19 points and 15 rebounds. Dalton Pepper accounted for 15 points, but he shot just 5-of-17 from the floor in the setback.

La Salle shot just 3-of-12 behind the 3-point line in the first half, but overall the squad still knocked down 46.7 percent from the field and suffered only two turnovers, en route to a 36-31 edge at the break.

In the second half the Explorers erupted for 60.9 percent accuracy from the field, at the same time limiting Temple to just 1-of-6 on the perimeter, as La Salle captured the win.

Temple, which had won eight straight in the series entering play on Saturday, was again playing without guard Will Cummings who continues to recover from a concussion.

The Owls have now lost six in a row, the first time that's happened since 2001.
