El Paso, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Vince Hunter led all scorers with 20 points and John Bohannon tallied 18 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists, as the Texas-El Paso Miners downed the Marshall Thundering Herd, 66-56, in Conference USA action at the Don Haskins Center.

Hunter shot 6-of-7 from the field and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line for UTEP (11-6, 1-1 C-USA), which has won six of seven. Julian Washburn was also stellar with 17 points.

For Marshall (6-11, 0-2), losers of five of its last six, Ryan Taylor scored 18 points and Chris Thomas netted 13.

Neither team shot greater than 38 percent in the first half and the game went to intermission knotted at 27.

UTEP started the second stanza on fire with 10 unanswered points in the first two and a half minutes, and its lead extended to as many as 18 down the stretch.

The Miners held a 43-34 advantage on the glass, which helped make up for a game-high 15 turnovers.
