GAME NOTES: The Harvard Crimson will attempt to continue their Ivy League dominance on Saturday night when they play host to the Columbia Lions at Lavietes Pavilion.

Columbia has come on strong of late with wins in each of its last four contests, most recently downing Dartmouth on the road on Friday night, 84-72. The Lions are now an impressive 18-10 overall this season and 7-4 in conference action, although they are only 4-7 away from home.

Harvard has also been cruising right along with wins in five straight, including a easy 72-47 triumph over last-place Cornell on Friday to improve to an outstanding 23-4 overall and 10-1 on its home floor. The Crimson are 10-1 in league play, and following Yale's loss on Friday, they now hold a two-game lead on first place with three to play.

In regards to the storied all-time series, Columbia holds to a 94-77 advantage, but the Crimson got the best of the Lions on Feb. 14 in New York, 88-84 in double overtime.

The Lions carried a three-point lead into halftime on Friday night and never gave up that advantage in the second stanza en route to the 12-point victory, as they shot an outstanding 59.5 percent from the field on the evening, including 13-of-24 from 3-point range. Alex Rosenberg knocked down 17-of-17 from the foul line, a school record for most free throws in a game without a miss, and also made 6-of-7 from the field on his way to 31 points. Maodo Lo tallied 16 points and seven assists, Steve Frankoski netted 14 points and Meiko Lyles added 10 points. Columbia boasts a solid offensive attack this season, shooting 45 percent from the field for 69.0 ppg, but it has put together a strong campaign thanks mostly to an excellent defensive effort that yields just 62.8 ppg on 42.2 percent shooting. Rosenberg's big night allowed his team-high scoring average to improve to 16.3 ppg. Lo (14.5 ppg) has knocked down 59 3-pointers at a 43.7 percent clip.

The Crimson did what was expected of them at home against the league's last- place team, as they outshot Cornell from the field, 51.1 percent to 39.1 percent, outscored it at the free-throw line (18-6) and claimed the rebounding battle (34-18) in the dominating 25-point victory. Siyani Chambers shot 4-of-6 from 3-point range for a team-high 15 points, while Brandyn Curry and Kyle Casey netted 12 and 10 points, respectively. Harvard's fantastic season has been well-represented in its statistical performance, as it not only shoots 46 percent from the field for 72.6 ppg but owns the nation's 10th-ranked scoring defense (59.9 ppg). Wesley Saunders scores a team-high 14.1 ppg on 47.1 percent from the field and is one of the Ivy's most well-rounded players with 4.5 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1.8 spg and 0.8 bpg. The squad has no shortage of scoring talent, with Chambers (11.1 ppg), Casey (10.0 ppg, 5.6 rpg), Steve Moundou- Missi (9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg), Curry (9.6 ppg) and Laurent Rivard (9.4 ppg) all bringing regular contributions to the table.

Although both teams are red-hot coming into this matchup, Columbia is at a disadvantage having to play two road games in as many nights, especially considering its opponent in this one.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Harvard 70, Columbia 60
