GAME NOTES: The streaking Boston Terriers continue their first run through the Patriot League, as they play host to the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds in a conference showdown at Agganis Arena on Monday.

Joe Jones's Terriers have certainly made their presence felt in their new conference this season, as they have jumped out to a flawless 5-0 mark in the Patriot League thus far. The team hasn't lost since a Dec. 29 setback at Saint Joseph's (73-67) and most recently knocked off Colgate at home, 66-58 last Wednesday.

G.G. Smith's Greyhounds are also getting acquainted with their new surroundings, as this is also Loyola-Maryland's first season in the Patriot League. However, the Greyhounds haven't had as much early success as Boston, with a 3-2 league ledger. Loyola has won its last two games though, including a 77-63 blasting of Lafayette a week ago.

This marks just the fourth all-time meeting between these two teams. Boston won the first-ever meeting in 1996, but Loyola has won the last two matchups, including a 70-63 victory in last year's CollegeInsider.come Postseason Tournament.

The Greyhound trailed by two points at the half against Lafayette, but took control early in the second half and went on to post a 14-point win at home. Dylon Cormier and R.J. Williams both recorded double-doubles in the win. Cormier finished the game with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Williams logged 12 points 11 assists. Eric Laster and Jordan Latham were instrumental in the win as well, tacking on 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Loyola has struggled with consistency this season and with a -4.8 scoring margin, the team has had a tough time putting wins together. The Greyhounds have also had a rough go of it on the boards, getting outrebounded by 6.7 caroms per game. Cormier has been the only reliable scoring threat on the team and actually leads the Patriot League in that department, averaging 22.6 ppg. With the offense revolving around him, it isn't any wonder that he has converted more free-throws (104) than any other player on the roster has attempted by far. The scoring pool dries up quickly after Cormier, with Laster ranking a distant second on the team with 9.3 ppg.

Boston's scoring output is more evenly dispersed, as three Terriers are averaging double digits for a squad netting 71.1 ppg. Maurice Watson Jr. leads the way with his ability to both score and distribute at a high rate. Watson is netting 14.6 ppg and leads the entire conference with 6.9 apg. Dom Morris is the perfect complement up front, shooting just under 60 percent from the field and averaging 12.0 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game. D.J. Irving rounds out the top scorers on the team with 11.6 ppg.

In the eight-point win over Colgate last week, the Terriers were once again paced by Watson, who posted an impressive stat line with 20 points, five rebounds and six assists. Morris poured in 15 points for Boston, which shot 48 percent from the floor overall, including 53.3 percent from behind the arc (8- of-15).

The Terriers are on a major role at this point, and although the Greyhounds have to best scoring threat in the league, a balanced squad at home should be enough to tip the scales in Boston's favor.
