(Saturday, November 23)

Final Score: Old Dominion 86, Georgia Southern 69

Norfolk, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Bacote scored a team-best 26 points and handed out six assists as the Old Dominion Monarchs captured an 86-69 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Monarchs (4-1) were Jordan Baker and Dimitri Batten with 17 and 15 points, respectively.

The Eagles (2-3) were led by Tre Bussey who dropped in a game-high 28 points, shooting 12-of-14 at the free-throw line, while Jelani Hewitt contributed 23 points as he shot only 7-of-18 from the floor.

GSU led by five points about five minutes into the meeting, but the team shot only 41.7 percent from the field through the first 20 minutes of action, compared to 59.3 percent for an ODU squad that posted a 47-33 advantage at the break. The hosts also connected on 8-of-12 beyond the arc in the first period.

Despite missing all five opportunities on the perimeter in the second half, the Monarchs still played well enough to come away with the double-digit victory. ODU held the Eagles to just 2-of-12 on the outside in the frame.
