GAME NOTES: The Wofford Terriers aim to equal their season-high three-game win streak this afternoon when they battle the Furman Paladins in Southern Conference play at Timmons Arena.

The Terriers, who also won three straight from Dec. 21 to Jan. 2, are coming off a 74-64 triumph at Georgia Southern on Thursday. Karl Cochran hit for 25 points to lead Wofford, while Spencer Collins notched 18. Eric Garcia and Lee Skinner tallied 15 and 10 points, respectively, with the latter also clearing nine rebounds.

Wofford enters this game ranked first in the Southern Conference in scoring defense (65.8 ppg), but last in scoring offense (66.0 ppg). The Terriers are led offensively by Cochran (14.2 ppg). The junior guard is also pacing the squad with 38 3-pointers. Collins (13.6 ppg) and Skinner (11.4 ppg, 8.7 rpg) are also part of the starting lineup for a team that comes to the end of a brutal stretch. This is the fourth game in eight days for the Terriers, who have just one senior on the roster in forward Aerris Smith (1.3 ppg, 1.6 rpg). Garcia is fifth in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.436). Unlike last season, the Terriers have been able to distribute the ball a bit better. Cochran accounted for 30.8 percent of the team's shots in 2012-13, but this year only 22.8 percent.

The Paladins stopped a five-game skid with a 76-71 win at The Citadel a week ago. Kendrec Ferrara notched a double-double consisting of 27 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 12-of-17 from the field along the way. Charlie Reddick and Stephen Croone added 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Ferrara, a 6-foot-9 sophomore, has picked up his play this month by averaging 18.3 points and shooting 64.7 percent from the field during conference play. Ferrara (10.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg) is behind Croone (19.5 ppg), who is second in the SoCon in scoring. Larry Wideman (10.8 ppg) and William Gates (9.3 ppg) are other key contributors for a team that averages only 68 ppg. Freshman Adonis Rwabigwi, who had a career-best 12 points in last Thursday's loss to Georgia Southern, has started nine of the 13 games he has played this season. Gates leads the conference by making 46.7 percent of his shots from beyond the 3- point line.

Wofford has won eight of the last 10 games in the series. If the Terriers can lock down defensively, they should be able to get back to the .500 mark for the season.
