GAME NOTES: Both the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Boston College Eagles will look to stop the bleeding of two-game losing streaks as they clash in Atlantic Coast Conference action at the Conte Forum.

Georgia Tech has lost two in a row and four of its last five games. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 56-42 loss to Miami in ACC play, which dropped them to 1-4 in the conference.

Boston College has lost two in a row and six of its last seven contests, falling to 1-4 in the ACC as well. The Eagles were shut down by North Carolina in their last outing, losing in Chapel Hill, 82-71.

Georgia Tech has a slim hold of the all-time series with Boston College, 9-8, although the Eagles have won the last three meetings.

Miami used a stifling zone defense to hold Georgia Tech to just 42 points in Saturday's contest. Trae Golden netted 12 points to pace the Yellow Jackets in the loss, but committed four turnovers. Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 10 and grabbed six rebounds as the only other player in double figures scoring for Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets shot a dismal 29.5 percent from the floor.

Golden, averaging 13.5 ppg this season, leads the Yellow Jackets in the scoring department, with Georges-Hunt close behind, averaging 11.9 ppg. Golden is shooting 42.1 percent from the floor, but just 28.2 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. Georgia Tech lost its best rebounder in Robert Carter Jr., who is out due to injury, but Daniel Miller steps in with a 7.9 rpg mark.

North Carolina jumped out to a 20-9 lead early in the game, but the Eagles came back and only trailed 36-32 at the half. North Carolina was able to build on its lead in the second frame, eventually taking the win. All five starters scored in double digits, with Olivier Hanlon leading all Eagles with 16 points. Lonnie Jackson scored 14, while Joe Rahon netted 13 in the loss. The Eagles shot 43.8 percent in the game.

Hanlon leads the Eagles this season in scoring with an 18.9 ppg average on 41.6 percent shooting from the floor. Ryan Anderson is the only other Boston College player to averaging double digits, netting 15.1 ppg. Anderson tops the roster in rebounding as well, averaging 7.3 rpg. The Eagles average 70.1 ppg, but allow 75.2 ppg to their opponents.

Neither team is hot at the moment, and both could desperately use this win to hopefully jumpstart an ACC run. Boston College gets great contributions from Hanlon, but is lacking in supporting help. Georgia Tech should be able to go on the road and take down the Eagles, who have a losing record on their home court.
