NCAA Game Summary - Boston College at Duke

(Sunday, February 24th)

Final Score: (6) Duke 89, Boston College 68

Durham, NC (Sports Network) - Rasheed Sulaimon racked up 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting and sixth-ranked Duke dismantled Boston College, 89-68, on Sunday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Mason Plumlee converted 11-of-15 from the free throw line, scoring 19 points to go with 15 rebounds for the Blue Devils (24-3, 11-3 ACC), who have strung together consecutive blowout victories since falling to Maryland last weekend.

Quinn Cook and Seth Curry each buried a pair of triples, scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively, in the victory.

After taking Duke down to the wire -- albeit a loss -- on its home floor earlier this month, Boston College (12-15, 4-10) never had a chance on Sunday in Durham.

"Unfortunately for us, I thought we didn't handle our first trip to this building very well," said Boston College coach Steve Donahue. "For most of the guys, all of the guys, our seven scholarship players, who are all freshmen or sophomores, for the first time this year did not play with the poise on both sides of the ball."

Ryan Anderson led the Eagles with 23 points in the team's sixth straight road setback.

Thanks to strong play on both sides of the ball, the Blue Devils jumped out to a sizeable lead early and it would only increase as time went on.

They forced 10 turnovers in the first 12 1/2 minutes of action and took a 29-11 lead following Curry's three-point play, which sparked a 19-8 run to blow the contest open.

"We just wanted to set the tone in the beginning and we did a great job of that," said Sulaimon. "Diving on lose balls, getting rebounds, pushing it up the court. I think we're at a good place right now and I think we're going to start playing well at the right time of the year."

Sulaimon, who scored 15 in the first half, followed with three straight buckets before consecutive three-point plays from Amile Jefferson gave Duke a comfortable 45-19 advantage.

Things didn't get much better for the Eagles in the second half, as Sulaimon and Curry each canned triples early in the period before another Jefferson three-point play gave Duke its largest lead of the game at 67-36.

Boston College never came closer than 21 points the rest of the way.

Game Notes

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski earned his 878th win at Duke and is one shy of tying Dean Smith for second most victories at one school ... The Blue Devils are 14-0 at home this season ... Jefferson scored 14 off the bench for Duke ... The Eagles had 16 turnovers for the game ... Patrick Heckmann scored 15 points for Boston College ... Duke leads the all-time series 16-2, including a 12-1 advantage since Boston College joined the ACC.
