GAME NOTES: The North Texas Mean Green have won four games in a row, and will look to keep that streak alive as they host the Texas-El Paso Miners in a Conference USA clash at the UNT Coliseum.

UTEP has dropped two consecutive contests, and with two games remaining on the team's schedule, the Miners could use a win. At 10-4 in the conference standings and in the mix for the conference's top overall seed, the Miners need to make up some ground. They were taken down on Thursday by Tulsa, 65-60, in their final home game of the regular season.

North Texas had lost five games in a row prior to embarking on a four-game win streak, but now owns a 6-8 record in the Conference USA standings. The Mean Green took down Texas-San Antonio on Thursday, 71-62.

UTEP leads the short all-time series between the two programs, 4-2. It's the first meeting between these new conference rivals in decades, and the only time they'll meet on the court in this regular season.

Tulsa held a six-point lead over UTEP at the end of the first half on Thursday, and was able to maintain a solid distance of separation in the second half thanks to 13 second-half points from Shaquille Harrison. John Bohannon notched a double-double for UTEP, netting 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds with four blocked shots in the loss. Julian Washburn added 14 points and freshman Vince Hunter chipped in 12 points with six boards.

Washburn has been the go-to scorer for the Miners since the team's leading scorer was suspended earlier this season. Washburn is netting 13 ppg on the year, and has 72 assists and 26 steals to add to his resume. C.J. Cooper is the only player with more assists on the team, dishing out 82, and Hunter has just one more steal than Washburn for the team lead. Hunter is second on the squad in scoring with 12.9 ppg, and Bohannon is third at 12 ppg. Bohannon leads the squad with 8.3 rpg and a team-high 48 blocked shots.

North Texas needed a jolt as the Mean Green came back out on the court after halftime against UTSA. North Texas was down by eight points to the Roadrunners, but that deficit would evaporate quickly. The Mean Green turned things around after key baskets early in the half spurred a momentum swing. Jordan Williams, who recorded his 1,000th career point in the game, netted 14 points to pace the Mean Green. Brandan Walton chipped in 13 points and T.J. Taylor added 10.

Jordan Williams leads the team in scoring this season with 12.5 ppg, followed by Alzee Williams, who notches 11.1 ppg. Jordan Williams' 6.1 rpg average is a team best, and his 24 steals is second to only Chris Jones' 47 steals. Jones leads the Mean Green this season with 116 total assists on the year, and nets 8.4 ppg. North Texas as a unit is scoring 70.8 ppg, but is giving up 72.6 ppg to its opponents.

The Mean Green have been on a roll lately, but really struggled before the team began its current win streak. The Miners have suffered some setbacks, but have otherwise dominated conference play. Even on the road, the Miners have the capability to pick up a much-needed win.
