GAME NOTES: Facing off for the second time in just a week, this time around the Niagara Purple Eagles hit the road and meet up with Manhattan at Draddy Gym for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference bout.

The Jaspers are in the upper echelon of the MAAC standings at the moment, sporting an 11-4 record after dismissing Rider by a score of 86-69 on Thursday night. Not only did the victory extend the team's overall win streak to four in a row, it was also the 11th road triumph of the campaign as well for Manhattan.

Meanwhile, the Purple Eagles have been rather awful away from home this season, winning just one of 12 true road dates and once in 14 chances anywhere other than home in 2013-14. On Valentine's Day the team hosted Canisius and was taken out in a 71-65 final, the fifth straight defeat and the seventh in the last eight outings for Niagara.

The Jaspers squeezed out a one-point win last weekend over Niagara, which means Manhattan now owns a 46-30 advantage in the all-time series.

Antoine Mason fired off 23 shots from the floor, but he converted just seven and finished with 17 points for the Purple Eagles as they suffered the loss against Canisius two nights ago at home. Mason, who cleared nine rebounds, made only 1-of-7 behind the 3-point line as the team hit a mere 4-of-18 on the perimeter. Marcus Ware registered a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Wesley Myers with 10- points in the setback.

Mason continues to be one of the top scorers in the entire nation with his 26.0 ppg, with nearly one-third of his total points coming at the free-throw line where he has knocked down 210-of-284 (.739). Put all his teammates together and they've combined for only 317 makes at the charity stripe for a team that is posting 76.3 ppg, but also giving up 82.5 ppg which continues to make it tough to come away with positive outcomes from one game to the next.

George Beamon posted 22 points and six rebounds as the Jaspers delivered a 17- point win over the Rider Broncs in MAAC action at Alumni Gym in New Jersey earlier this week. Also scoring in double figures for the Jaspers were Michael Alvarado and RaShawn Stores with 18 and 11 points, respectively, as their won their fourth straight game. The visitors overcame 18 turnovers by converting an impressive 12-of-21 beyond the arc.

Like Mason for the Purple Eagles, Beamon is the center of attention on offense for Manhattan with his 19.1 ppg, adding 6.7 rpg as well, but not all the numbers are overwhelmingly favorable for the Jaspers star. Beamon is shooting only 40.6 percent from the field and, through 21 starts, has handed out a mere 17 assists. Clearly the latter job belongs to Alvarado (13.3 ppg) who has handed out 102

As he showed in the last game, Mason can take all the shots he wants from all over the floor, but that in no way guarantees that Niagara will be able to compete today, especially since the Jaspers are fighting for a better seeding in the upcoming conference tournament.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Manhattan 82, Niagara 71
