Lubbock, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Juwan Staten paced all scorers with 25 points to lead the West Virginia Mountaineers past the Texas Tech Red Raiders in overtime, 89-86, in Big 12 Conference action at United Spirit Arena.

Staten did his damage on 10-of-12 from the field and 5-of-8 from the foul line for WVU (10-5, 2-0 Big 12), which has won three straight. Eron Harris netted 18 points for the visitors, while Terry Henderson and Devin Williams put up 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Jordan Tolbert tallied a double-double for Texas Tech (8-7, 0-2) with 18 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out in the extra session. Toddrick Gotcher registered 17 points and five assists, Jaye Crockett had 15 points and Dusty Hannahs scored 14.

WVU outshot Texas Tech in the first half, 48.4 percent to 37.9 percent, as it carried a 39-33 lead into the halftime locker room.

The Mountaineers' advantage swelled to as many as 11 in the second half before the Red Raiders made their run, eventually taking a 77-74 lead in the final minute of regulation, but Henderson came through for WVU with 16 seconds left by drilling a game-tying 3-pointer to force overtime.

WVU never trailed in the extra session, shooting 3-of-4 from the field and 6- of-9 from the free-throw line. Texas Tech had a chance to force a second overtime at the buzzer but Crockett's 3-pointer did not fall.

The Mountaineers held on to win despite losing the rebounding battle, 35-26, and getting outscored at the foul line, 22-13.
