GAME NOTES: Both the Hofstra Pride and College of Charleston Cougars will try to rebounds from losing streaks as they clash in Colonial Athletic Association play at TD Arena.

Hofstra has lost three consecutive games and four of its last five, falling to 3-4 in CAA action this season - four games behind Delaware for the conference lead. The Pride are coming off a 77-74 loss to Drexel Wednesday.

Charleston has lost two in a row and three of its last four, and is tied with Hofstra at 3-4 in the CAA standings. The Cougars fell to the Pride back on Jan. 11, 75-71, at Hofstra. Charleston lost its most recent contest, a 74-63 defeat at the hands of William & Mary.

The 75-71 Hofstra win over Charleston earlier in January marked the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Hofstra now holds a 1-0 series lead, and will play in Charleston for the first time ever.

Hofstra and Drexel battled back and forth until there were two minutes left to play, when Drexel pulled ahead and eventually took the three-point win. Zeke Upshaw scored a team-high 27 points and grabbed five rebounds for Hofstra, which dropped below the .500 mark in conference play. Jamall Robinson chipped in 15 points with 10 rebounds, Dion Nesmith added 13 points and Moussa Kone contributed 10. The Pride shot 47.2 percent from the floor.

Upshaw has proven to be one of the better scorers this season in the CAA, as the graduate forward leads the Pride with 19.2 ppg on 40.2 percent shooting from the floor. Nesmith is second on the team in scoring, and the only other player to average double-digit scoring totals this season, with 13 ppg and a team-best 81 assists on the year. Stephen Nwaukoni tops the squad in rebounding at 8.5 rpg. The Pride are averaging 68 ppg through their 22 contests played this season.

Charleston held a nine-point halftime lead over William & Mary in the team's last game, but a 49-point second-half effort by the Tribe allowed them to come back for the win. Anthony Stitt scored 18 points to pace the Cougars, who fell below the .500 mark in conference, like Hofstra. Anthony Thomas scored 16 points, while Willis Hall netted 15. Charleston connected on 47.2 percent of its shots from the floor in the loss.

Hall has proven himself to be an effective scorer and rebounder for the Cougars this season, as the big man leads the squad in scoring with 12.3 ppg, and has a 9.3 rpg average. Stitt is the only other Cougars player to average scoring numbers in the double digits at 10.5 ppg, adding a team-best 66 assists to his totals. Charleston is scoring just 63.7 ppg, and is holding its opponents to slightly under that total at 63.2 ppg.

Hofstra was able to secure that first win against the Cougars thanks in part to its home-court advantage. The Pride have senior leadership in graduate students Upshaw and Nesmith, but at home Charleston should be able to thrive, especially in the rebounding game.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: College of Charleston 74, Hofstra 69
