GAME NOTES: The Siena Saints travel to Connecticut to take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the TD Bank Sports Center.

Siena comes into this game on a two-game win streak, including a 69-60 decision over Rider on the road last Sunday. The Saints are tied with the Broncs for fifth place in the MAAC standings.

The second-place Bobcats have won their last seven games, most recently beating Niagara last Saturday on the road, 90-88.

These two teams have met just three times prior to this game, with the Saints owning a 2-1 series edge. Quinnipiac won the previous meeting this season, a 103-95 overtime thriller on Feb. 1 at Siena. This will be the Saints' first trip to Hamden.

Lavon Long scored 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Saints downed Rider. Marquis Wright and Maurice White also scored in double figures for Siena in the win, as they tallied 14 and 10 points, respectively, while Brett Bisping pitched in with eight points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Putting up 70.0 ppg, the Saints have a handful of performers who can be counted on for significant scoring efforts, led by Poole with his 15.0 ppg, and followed by Bisping who has used his 53.6 percent accuracy from the floor to come away with 9.9 ppg. As a team, the Saints are scoring an even 70 ppg, but giving up 72.3 ppg.

Umar Shannon knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer in the final moments, as the Quinnipiac Bobcats pulled out a thriller against the Niagara Purple Eagles. Shannon finished the afternoon shooting a woeful 3-of-16 from the field and 2-of-9 behind the 3-point line, but he came up big when it counted for the Bobcats. Ousmane Drame put together a massive double-double with 26 points and 18 rebounds, converting all but two of his 12 field goal attempts, while Ike Azotam had a double-double of his own with 26 points and 13 boards. Evan Conti tacked on 15 points and five assists for the Bobcats.

Azotam is averaging 16.9 ppg and 10.7 rpg for the high-scoring Bobcats, who have four players in double figures and score 79.8 ppg, second-best in the MAAC. Zaid Hearst (15.6), Shannon (14.7) and Drame (13.7) round out the double-figure scores for Quinnipiac. Drame adds 10.4 rpg as well, as the Bobcats are the top rebounding team in the conference (46.2 rpg).

The Bobcats have a balanced scoring attack and have been rolling of late. Although the Saints are battling to try and move up in the MAAC standings, they don't have the weapons to match the Bobcats.
