GAME NOTES: The Virginia Tech Hokies look to end a four-game losing streak as they host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Atlantic Coast Conference action at Cassell Coliseum.

Wake Forest hasn't been so hot lately either, having lost three of its last four games, and four of its last six. The Deacons are coming off a 61-53 loss to ACC member Clemson.

The Hokies have lost four in a row - all in conference play. Their 1-4 ACC record has sent them back a ways. Virginia Tech was downed by newest ACC program Notre Dame, 70-63, on Sunday.

Virginia Tech holds a slim all-time series lead between the two programs, 29-89, but Wake Forest has a perfect shot to knot the series up against a struggling Tech team.

In a 10-minute stretch during the second half against Clemson, the Tigers used a 10-4 run to stretch their lead to a point where Wake Forest was not able to come back. Coron Williams paced the Demon Deacons with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor. Tyler Cavanaugh chipped in 12 points, and Arnaud William Adala Moto added 10. Wake Forest shot just 36.2 percent from the floor.

Codi Miller-McIntyre leads Wake Forest in scoring this season with a 15.3 ppg average on 44.9 percent shooting from the field. He also tops the squad with 68 assists through 18 games played. Devin Thomas is the only other Wake Forest player to average double-digit point totals on the year, netting 11.2 ppg on 54.4 percent shooting. Wake Forest as a team is averaging 71.9 ppg through 18 contests.

The second half of the Notre Dame-Virginia Tech matchup belonged to the Hokies, but they dug themselves too deep a hole in the first half from which to come back. Notre Dame led 39-24 at the intermission, and Virginia Tech's 39-31 second-half advantage was too little, too late. Devin Wilson and Cadarian Raines each scored 20 points for the Hokies in the loss, while Wilson added seven assists. C.J. Barksdale chipped in 12 points for Virginia Tech.

Jarell Eddie, who scored just two points in the loss to Notre Dame, still leads the team in scoring this season with 14.5 ppg on 38.8 percent shooting from the floor. Eddie is the only player on Virginia Tech's roster to have suited up for all 17 games played this season. Ben Emelogu is second on the Hokies with 11.5 ppg through just 13 games played, but is the only other Virginia Tech player to average double figures in the scoring category.

The Hokies are banged up, especially considering the fact that Emelogu is questionable to play in this game with a sprained ankle. Wake Forest has a great opportunity to take a win on the road by kicking Virginia Tech while it's down.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Wake Forest 73, Virginia Tech 67
