Hartford, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Shabazz Napier scored 19 points in leading the Connecticut Huskies to an 80-43 trouncing of the Houston Cougars in an American Athletic Conference joust at Gampel Pavilion.

Ryan Boatright added 15 points and Niels Giffey and Phillip Nolan each had 10 for UConn (17-4, 5-3 AAC), which has won six of its last seven.

Danrad Knowles scored 10 points as the lone double-figure scorer for Houston (11-10, 3-5), which has dropped three straight.

UConn dominated in the first half, sinking 54.1 percent from the floor, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, to enter the break leading 51-22. Houston only shot at a 27.3 percent pace in the first 20 minutes.

The Cougars again struggled in the second frame, tallying only nine field goals and missing all 10 of their attempts from 3-point range. The Huskies cooled to 31.3 percent shooting themselves, but it was more than enough to maintain their advantage.

UConn scored 20 points off of 13 Houston turnovers and earned a 55-40 edge on the boards.
