Charleston, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Matt Van Scyoc scored 19 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Bulldogs of The Citadel dominated the Georgia Southern Eagles, 80-63, in Southern Conference play at McAlister Fieldhouse.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bulldogs (6-25, 2-14 SoCon), as they won back-to-back games against Division I foes for the first time this season, were Ashton Moore with 16 points, Marshall Harris III 11 and P.J. Horgan 10 points off the bench. Harris III also handed out a game-high 12 assists, while Horgan cleared nine rebounds for the hosts.

The Eagles (13-18, 6-10) were paced by Tre Bussey with a game-high 29 points as he shot 12-of-21 from the floor, followed by Jelani Hewitt with 10 points as the team bowed for the second time in the last three outings.

Both teams shot about the same from the field in the first half, with Georgia Southern hitting 41.9 percent from the floor and the Bulldogs 40.0 percent, yet even with 6-of-14 accuracy beyond the arc in the period, The Citadel still trailed at the break, 35-33.

In the second half the hosts turned it around as they converted a staggering 70.4 percent from the floor in order to surge ahead and secure the lopsided home win.

In addition to turning the ball over just seven times, The Citadel also connected on 54.4 percent from the floor in the victory.
