GAME NOTES: After losing two straight games, the Austin Peay Governors will try and turn their luck around as they host the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in an Ohio Valley Conference clash at Dave Aaron Arena.

Eastern Kentucky ended a two-game skid of its own with a victory last Saturday over Jacksonville State, 86-65, that boosted the Colonels' OVC record to 8-5. EKU has won four of its past six games played.

Austin Peay has lost two straight and eight of the team's past 11 contests, including a heartbreaking 90-88 defeat at the hands of Morehead State Wednesday in double overtime. The Governors have struggled to a 5-8 conference record this season.

Austin Peay still has a handle on the all-time series with Eastern Kentucky, leading 60-49. The Colonels have won two of the past three meetings with the Governors, but have dropped eight straight in Clarksville.

Eastern Kentucky used a hot offense to down Jacksonville State easily last Saturday. The Colonels connected on 64.6 percent of their field goal ties in the contest, and went 11-of-21 from 3-point range in the 21-point victory. Tarius Johnson netted 19 points to pace EKU, while Glenn Cosey chipped in with 15 and Orlando Williams added 14. Corey Walden rounded out the double-digit scorers for EKU with 12 points, pulling down five rebounds in the process.

Cosey tops the Colonels in scoring this season with an impressive 18.7 ppg average on 41.7 percent shooting from the floor. Cosey's 115 assists on the year give him the team's top spot in that category, and his 34 steals is good for third on the squad. Walden checks in at second on the roster ins coring with 13.3 ppg with a team-best 56 steals, and Marcus Lewis averages 10.9 ppg on the season. Eric Stutz leads the Colonels with a 4.6 rpg mark and 18 blocked shots.

Austin Peay and Morehead State completed an epic battle in OVC play Wednesday night with a double-overtime thriller that was capped off by an Angelo Warner floater with .8 seconds remaining in the second OT period that gave the Eagles a two-point win over the Governors. Travis Betran led Austin Peay in scoring in the contest with 24 points, while Ed Dyson contributed 15 and seven rebounds before fouling out. Chris Horton scored 12 points and had five blocked shots, but also fouled out, and Will Triggs added 11 points to the effort.

Betran controls the scoring lead for Austin Peay this season, averaging 14.6 ppg, but is shooting just 37.9 percent from the field. The big man Horton is averaging 13.4 ppg and a team-leading 9.3 rpg, contributing 86 blocked shots. Triggs rounds out the double-digit point scorers for the Govs with 12 ppg. Damarius Smith, who leads the team with 130 assists on the year, is questionable to play with an ankle injury.

Eastern Kentucky hasn't won a game in Clarksville in its last eight opportunities, but that could change with this matchup. The Colonels sport an above .500 record on the road this season, and have some very equipped scorers that can keep pace with whatever the Governors throw at them.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Eastern Kentucky 79, Austin Peay 70
