BRISTOL, Conn. — Indiana will host North Carolina in a high-profile showcase for the resurgent Hoosiers during next season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
North Carolina State will visit Michigan on Nov. 27, and Ohio State will play at Duke the next day during the 14th annual event.
Coming off its first appearance in the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament in a decade, Indiana adds a strong recruiting class to returnees Cody Zeller and Christian Watford. On Nov. 27, the Hoosiers face a Tar Heels team hit hard by graduation and NBA defections.
Duke owns the best record of any team in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, sporting an 11-2 mark since the conference showdown began 13 years ago. Duke is a perfect 4-0 in Cameron Indoor Stadium, including an 84-79 home win over No. 6 Michigan State in the 2010-11 Challenge. One of Duke’s two losses came during the 2011-12 Challenge at Ohio State in what was the highest viewed ACC/Big Ten Challenge game in history.
This will be the third time NC State and Michigan have met in the Challenge with the Wolverines winning the first contest, 68-61, in Ann Arbor in 2003 and the Pack taking the return engagement in Raleigh, 74-67, in 2006. NC State is 5-7 all-time in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and 3-2 all-time in contests with Michigan.
“Our team is excited to play in a prestigious event like the ACC/Big Ten Challenge,” head coach Mark Gottfried said. “This could be a match up of two potentially ranked teams and those are types of games we want to participate in.”
The other Nov. 27 matchups announced Monday by ESPN are Minnesota at Florida State, Maryland at Northwestern, Iowa at Virginia Tech and Nebraska at Wake Forest. The Nov. 28 games are Virginia at Wisconsin, Michigan State at Miami, Purdue at Clemson, Georgia Tech at Illinois and Boston College at Penn State.

i thought they tried to seed these games based on expected talent level
They didn't do that this past year. At least in the case of Duke at Ohio St. and Wisconsin at UNC.

Ohio State turned out to be much much better than Dook.

They ended up in the Final Four, which means they turned out to be much much much better than UNC.

So by that logic, UNC ended up in the Elite 8...much much much better than dook, who hurried straight home after Lee said "Hi!" in one of college basketball's most embarrassing upsets ever. Still enjoying that one LOL!
Thanks for finally acknowledging that, not sure what took so long.

Still enjoying that one LOL!I know how you feel, enjoy that while you can. I know I've been enjoying UNC's ongoing NCAA investigation for the last 4 years and counting and unlike Duke's loss to Lehigh, it may never end.

i thought they tried to seed these games based on expected talent level ...so how is it the Heels are playing the best team in the country.i am a Tarheel fan but they will without a doubt struggle next year.looks like Fla State would be matched up with Indiana

I believe they do the pairings based on either the previous season's final standings, or the current year's projected standings.

I'm not sure how they decide the matchups. Whenever you think you've figured out the formula, something pops up to disprove it. Anyway, it will be a very tough game for the Heels and I'm fine with that. Duke gets a rematch with OSU in Cameron though I don't think OSU will be as good as they were so that should make a difference this season. Last year, I think OSU would've whupped Duke in any arena in the country. Vote for most boring game of the challenge: Wisconsin vs. Virgina. Does the winning team reach 40?
