Carolyn Swords made sure there wouldn't be a second huge upset on the first day of the ACC Women's Tournament, as the sophomore scored 20 points on 10-12 shooting in the Eagles' 76-59 win over Miami Thursday night.
Corey Rusin made sure Swords didn't have to do it all herself, pitching in 12 points and four rebounds during the win.
Shenise Johnson led the Hurricanes with 13 points and eight rebounds.
The Eagles will next play Florida State in the quarterfinal round - tip is set for 6pm Friday evening.
