Game times set for Duke and UNC

Posted March 22, 2009
Updated March 23, 2009

CBS has set the times for Thursday and Friday games in the round of 16.

Duke will play Villanova in the late game Thursday. Tip off in Boston is approximately 9:57 p.m. North Carolina will meet Gonzaga in the late game Friday. Tip off in Memphis is also 9:57 p.m.

Duke and North Carolina shared the stage during first- and second-round games in Greensboro. Duke won a difficult battle with Texas, 74-69. North Carolina broke open a very tight battle with LSU to win 84-70.

Because the teams were placed in different regions, the Blue Devils and Tar Heels will now go separate ways. Duke plays in the East Regional. UNC is in the South Regional.

The top four seeds advanced in both the East and South.

BDF is elitest and out of touch. He will say anything as fact as long as it makes UNC look bad. Not sure what is worse that people believe his rhetoric or that he is a dook fan. Eh probably grew up in Durham.

I'd say it is very likely that grayboomerang is a state fan, writing a fake neutral post in order to gain some level of credibility. Unfortunately, the ignorance proved otherwise.

With all of the big guns getting to the Sweet 16, it wouldn't surprise me what happens from here on. UNC and Duke could easily be bounced in their next games or they could just as easily play each other in Detroit where one of them would be guaranteed a spot in the NC. It's going to be both, fun and agonizing to watch. GO HEELS!

  • Deacons Mar 23, 2009

Except for Duke and UNC the ACC has been a big joke in this tournament. I am embarrassed by Wake and the rest of the league (except for Duke and UNC) have nothing to brag about either.

  • easystreet Mar 23, 2009

I'm just glad we are here to play!

    Go HEELS!!

Why start at 10:00? Lets start the game right after The Tonight Show or better yet how about at 5:30 Am that way I can catch the 2nd half before I go into work.

I don't like it that any of these teams are having to play this late. I find it hard to stay "up" for the games that late at night. I know it's all about money and ratings, but this is just absolutely ridiculous!

  • russ311 Mar 23, 2009

wow unc is the only 1 seed that has to play the late game.that is lame.even uconn playing in az gets a 7:07 tip.

  • TheSTATEment Mar 23, 2009

Agree that duke fans pull against carolina and carolina fans pull against duke. state fans just change their shirts during football season.

  • LGD Mar 23, 2009

Go DUKE, beat Villanova. Not only win, but beat another big east team; it would be the thrd this year.

    LETS GO DEVILS

    GOOD WIN OVER TEXAS!
