The station website reports that it's information comes from unnamed sources.
After WHAS11 broke broke the story last night Kentucky issued a statement saying Gillispie hasn't been fired, and no meetings or press conferences are scheduled to take place.
Kentucky finished the season with a 22-14 mark after losing to Notre Dame in the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament. Gillispie's total record with the Wildcats in two seasons is 40-27.
He is in the second year of a seven year contract that pays him about $2.3 million per year.

Who could please the people from Kentucky?????? They ran Tubby out and he did one helleva job. I thought Gillispie did a solid job too. There is smoke in the tee-pee. I hope that he already has something lined up. These people think that they should be in the finals every year.

iron fist= It's called reverse psychology. Works on my kids like a charm. I hope it works on the people in Kentucky as well.
I don't think there is enough psychology or drugs in the US to get Kentucky to go after Sid.

Yeah when it's us were lunatics, or dilutional. But Kentucky gets a pass? They gave the guy 2 years, that means he really only had one full summer to recruit one of his classes. Give me a break. But, dont worry everyone will just say, "Well that's Kentucky basketball, they expect more." But if we do it, man you State fans need to give the guy sometime, and continue to be mediocre, so we can continue to dominate year in and year out. Of coarse all Duke and Carolina fans liked Herb, he helped pad their wins. But, would those schools kept him around for 10 years, I dont think so.
