Durham, N.C. — A Durham company will be capturing all the fan action at center court Monday for the National Collegiate Athletic Association's men's basketball championship game in Houston.
Replay Photos will use its FanCam to capture a high-resolution, panoramic image of fans in the stadium. Fans can zoom in to find themselves, so they'll have more than a ticket stub to remember the experience.
Replay Photos makes sharing the images on Facebook, Twitter or e-mail easy. Fans can zoom in, tag themselves, share or purchase the photos and even have their faces put up on the scoreboard.
The image will be captured in Houston moments before tip-off and is expected to be uploaded to the NCAA website by Tuesday evening.
Back in February, Replay Photos snapped their high-definition photos at the Duke-UNC game. The individual shots were then stitched together to make a 360-degree image, so fans could find themselves, in an image frozen in time.
For many college basketball fans in the Triangle, watching the Tar Heels take on the Blue Devils at Cameron Stadium is a dream come true.
"It's a pretty significant event," said Lori Winters, director of marketing for Replay Photos. "(On FanCam), you can see every portion of Cameron as it existed that night."
