=== Petty powers Baylor to win over K-State ===

Manhattan, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryce Petty was 13-of-22 for 342 yards and
three touchdowns, leading the 15th-ranked Baylor Bears to a 35-25 win over the
 Kansas State Wildcats.

Tevin Reese caught the decisive score for Baylor as he was one of the two main
targets for Petty. Reese caught five passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns
and Antwan Goodley made five grabs for 139 yards and a score.

Glasco Martin also chipped in a touchdown while running the ball 16 times for
70 yards. Petty also had a rushing touchdown.

"I do not think there is a team out there that can stop us when we are on our
stuff," Petty said. "We had a couple of drops today. I missed a couple of
reads, and we had that fumble. You have to expect in road games that things do
not go your way. The guys did a great job of bouncing back."

Leading rusher Lache Seastrunk managed only 57 yards on 12 carries for Baylor
 (5-0, 2-0 Big 12).

Daniel Sams was 4-for-7 passing for 41 yards and one interception, but he
picked up the majority of his yards with his legs. He had 30 carries for 199
yards and three touchdowns. John Hubert ran 15 times for 90 yards for Kansas
 State (2-4, 0-3).

"I do not go out there to try to get massive stats," Sams said. "I am just
trying to make plays, play like myself, and play for the team."

The Wildcats also saw Jake Waters complete 6-of-15 passes for 77 yards.

Baylor came out and scored on its first drive as it went 12 plays for 59
yards. The longest play of the drive was a completion to Goodley for 31 yards
and Petty kept it himself for a 1-yard touchdown.

Kansas State got on the board with a one-yard run from its quarterback Sams.
The run capped off a drive in which Sams rushed for all eight plays and 78
 yards.

Two possessions later the Bears started at their own five following a downed
punt. Petty ran on the first play for two yards and followed that play with a
completion to hit Reese for a 93-yard touchdown pass.

On their ensuing drive, the Wildcats drove 68 yards in 11 plays to pick up a
24-yard field goal. Sams had two third-down conversions on the ground during
the drive, one for 32 yards on 3rd-and-1 and another for eight on 3rd-and-6.

Petty again came out firing as he hit Goodley for a 72-yard touchdown pass
with less than two minutes on the clock.

Kansas State started the second half with a grueling 13-play, 60-yard drive
that lasted six-plus minutes. The Wildcats grinded their way to a 32-yard
field goal, which made the score 21-13.

Baylor stalled out on its next possession and had its punt blocked by
Weston Hiebert. Kansas State took over at the Bears 19-yard line. After a 17-
yard run by Hubert, Sams rushed for another touchdown except for two yards
 this time.

With the momentum on their side after the blocked punt Kansas State gave up a
17-yard pass to Goodley. On the next play though Petty fumbled as he was
sacked and Ryan Mueller recorded the sack, fumble and fumble recovery.

The Wildcats ran their way down the field for a 10-play 44-yard drive and it
ended with a rushing score from Sams again for two yards to put Kansas State
 in front, 25-21.

The Bears wasted no time answering the Wildcats as they drove 71 yards on five
plays. The big play of the drive was the go-ahead, 54-yard touchdown pass
to Reese. This brought the score to 28-25 in favor of Baylor.

After a three-and-out by both teams, Kansas State drove into Baylor territory
to threaten the lead. The Wildcats made it all the way down to the Bears' 24-
yard line before stalling out at 4th-and-2. Kansas State attempted a 41-yard
field goal but missed wide right.

Kansas State's defense then came out and stopped Baylor to force a punt. Two
plays later, Sams was intercepted by Ahmad Dixon. Baylor then began to run out
the clock and handed the ball to Martin five times before he broke on for a
 21-yard touchdown.
