Background
Roberts caught 35 passes for 557 yards and five TDs as a freshman, but developed into one of the top receivers in the country as a sophomore. He grabbed 78 passes for 1,060 yards, a 13.6 average and 10 touchdowns. One of the more dangerous deep threats in FCS, His 78 catches were a single-season record for The Citadel. Roberts had touchdown catches in each of his last six games. He nabbed 12 receptions against Wofford and had five games with nine or more catches. He also is an excellent punt returner, with 481 yards for a 10.9 average. A respected leader on campus, Roberts was named a team captain for 2008.
