Iowa City, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Connor Cook threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns as the Michigan State Spartans outlasted the Iowa Hawkeyes, 26-14, in Big Ten Conference action at Kinnick Stadium.

Cook completed 25-of-44 passes with an interception while also rushing for 21 yards for Michigan State (4-1, 1-0 Big Ten), which bounced back from its Sept. 21 loss to Notre Dame. Bennie Fowler had nine receptions for 92 yards and a score, while Macgarrett Kings, Jr. was also impressive with 94 yards and a touchdown on five catches.

Jake Rudock threw for 241 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions on 26- of-46 passing for Iowa (4-2, 1-1), which snapped a four-game winning streak. Rudock was also the team's leading rusher with just 11 yards. Damon Bullock finished with five receptions for 71 yards, both season highs.

After a scoreless opening frame, Michigan State got on the board at the 11:44 mark of the second quarter with a 27-yard field goal by Michael Geiger. Cook added a 46-yard touchdown pass to Kings, Jr. later in the quarter to put the Spartans up 10-0.

The Hawkeyes scored their first points less than two minutes later when Rudock connected with Bullock on a 47-yard scoring strike. After forcing a three-and- out by the Spartans, Iowa drove 65 yards in six plays before the end of the half, capped off by a 10-yard touchdown pass from Rudock to C.J. Fiedorowicz to go ahead, 14-10.

Michigan State began the second half with the ball and responded with a seven- play, 75-yard drive ending in a another long touchdown pass by Cook, this time a 37-yarder to Fowler. The Spartans added to their lead later in the third quarter with a 35-yard field goal by Geiger.

Geiger gave the Spartans some more breathing room early in the fourth quarter with another field goal, this time from 49 yards out. Geiger also added a 40- yarder with 5:25 remaining, which came on the heels off a missed field goal by Iowa's Mike Meyer.

The Hawkeyes had an interception and turned the ball over on downs on their final two possessions.

Michigan State outgained Iowa, 412 total yards to 264, and had over 37 minutes of possession time.
