Durham, N.C. — Ninety-one student-athletes completed a host of forms, took part in meetings and went through physical exams on Wednesday, the opening day of North Carolina Central University preseason football camp.
Four more student-athletes will be joining their fellow Eagles in preseason camp to reach the full complement of 95. One has to complete an internship, while three more are still taking summer school courses.
During the day on Thursday (Aug. 2), the new and returning Eagles will receive their football equipment and sit in team meetings and a university orientation, before taking the field inside O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium for the first practice of the season at 7 p.m.
The NCCU preseason football camp will conclude on Friday, Aug. 17, as classes for the fall semester begin on Monday, Aug. 20.
The Eagles kickoff the 2012 gridiron campaign by hosting Fayetteville State on Sept. 1 inside O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium at 6 p.m.
