FSU's Bowden has decided on his future
By Dane Huffman Oct 29, 2009
Florida State coach Bobby Bowden has made a decision about his future, but isn’t ready to announce it yet, he said Thursday.
“I have but I’m not saying,” he told Adam Gold and Joe Ovies on 850 The Buzz Thursday morning.
Bowden’s Seminoles play at home Saturday against N.C. State at noon, and Bowden’s future has been the subject of intense scrutiny in Florida. The Seminoles are just 3-4 this season, raising the question of whether Bowden will resign after the season and turn the program over to coach-in-waiting Jimbo Fisher.
Bowden said he would announce his plans “as soon as possible.”
Bowden turns 80 on Nov. 8 and has been the Florida State head coach since 1976.
Gold and Ovies will move their show to 620 AM beginning Monday, and 620 AM will acquire The Buzz name.

RE: FSU's Bowden has decided on his future
Probally just a rumor but I heard UVA may be interested on what Bowden would bring as far as coaches go. They are getting killed by VT in recruiting and money should not be too high either for Bowden. Personally I would go for someone else but there is alot of talent around VA and Bowden could make a case for what he has been made to do with Jumbo there whether good or bad to future recruits.I know he is almost 80 but he does still have a name that players know and he might could be a asset short term.
I think he'll be back for one more year...
He's still got some fire left in his belly and there's a pretty good chance he can go out strong next year with 18 starters coming back.
Thanks to the posters for the classy and respectful posts -- much appreciated by this Nole fan.

The man deserves respect. The boosters at FSU that want him gone are a bunch of azzez.

Bobby Bowden did great things every place he coached, especially at FSU. It is sad how people forget what you have done for years at a school. Bobby did all that he could and he won. won. won. But, the rich want more. I wish Bowden the very best. Live long.
