Russell Wilson might be the best quarterback in the ACC, he has put up more than respectable numbers despite missing two full games,. Wilson is second overall in the ACC in passing efficiency at 127.0. That mark ranks fourth nationally among all freshmen QB’s and would rank 11th all-time in school history for a single season, not bad for a player that not many were sure should even start this season.
North Carolina is proving the adage that if a team forces turnovers they win the game. In the Heels seven wins this year the team is +16 in turnover margin. In three losses, Carolina are -6 (-2 in a 20-17 loss to Virginia Tech, -3 in 16-13 loss at Virginia and -1 in a 17-15 loss at Maryland). (Thank you Kevin Best at UNC for providing the stats.)
Duke travels to Virginia Tech and will be without Thad Lewis at quarterback who left the Clemson game with a foot injury. Enter Zack Asack at the position, who last year was named game captain for the Virginia Tech game.

NC State reserve Simon Harris defends against Davidson sophomore Stephen Curry on December 21, 2007.
Unless you are living on another planet, or simply have no interest in sports, (then why the heck are you reading this?) you have heard of Davidson's Stephen Curry. He led his small-town team from Davidson, NC to the elite eight last year, and came within a three-point shot at the buzzer from beating Kansas.
And if you didn't see last night's road loss to Oklahoma, he hasn't slowed down a bit. Davidson lost 82-78 on the road to a top 15 team that has Blake Griffin on it, who for my money is the only player in America I would have before Curry. No disrespect to Tyler Hansbrough over at North Carolina who I think is the third best player in the nation. But right now you are second on the MVP list in the state.
Curry has started this season with scoring performances of 29,33, and 44 in that order through three games. Not to mention Jason Richards, the outstanding guard from last year's team, isn't there anymore. Curry is having to take over

Welcome to the weekly ACC Power Poll where each week we wonder out loud does anyone want to win this conference. The conference is so unpredictable this year they are thinking of changing the name from Atlantic Coast Conference to the Atlantic Chaos Conference (I will be here all week, please tip your waitresses). Anyway, here goes nothing.
1. Maryland (7-3)-They knock off UNC ten days after being embarrassed on Thursday night by the Hokies. Something about Byrd Stadium and ranked teams gets them ready to play. Ralph Friedgen may still get to break out his new swim suit in Tampa.
2. Miami (7-3)-The ‘Canes and Randy Shannon’s text minutes have been a stand by joke all season in this spot, but the young ‘Canes are suddenly no joke as they control their own destiny.
3. Florida State (7-3)-No they aren’t back. Suspending five Wide Receivers before a big game is no win to get back to being a national power. What happened to

N.C. State defensive end Marcus Kuhn disrupts East Carolina quarterback Patrick Pickney's pass on September 20, 2008.
N.C. State Wolfpack defensive end Shea McKeen is out for the season. He suffered a broken ankle in the win against Wake Forest on Saturday.
The Fan learned about the injury on Coach Tom O'Brien's coach's show, which can be heard exclusively on 99.9 FM The Fan.
McKeen was critical in the Wolfpack's win over East Carolina on Sept. 20. He sacked Patrick Pinkney and forced a fumble that held the Pirates without points on their first possession. Shortly after Andre Brown ran in for the winning score.
Sophomore Markus Kuhn will start in McKeen's place.
On the court:
The N.C. State Wolfpack men's basketball team tipped off the regular season on Saturday with a win over New Orleans. Freshmen C.J. Williams has played his way into a starting role, but only found himself on the floor for nine minutes and was held without a field goal attempt.
Coach Sidney Lowe said on his coach's show on 99.9 FM The Fan on Monday that

Stop the presses!! NC State football has a two game winning streak and it’s two in a row in ACC play. The Pack beat Duke two weeks ago and followed that victory up with a second win on the year against a ranked team.
This time Wake Forest was the victim. Say what you will about a lack of talent and injury riddled season, but this Tom O’Brien team plays hard every play and never quits. I know, I know that’s the oldest cliché in the book, but for these guys it rings true. Look at the progress NCSU has made from that opener down in South Carolina in late August. Sitting up in the press box we were half joking that this team wouldn't’t make it past the 50-yard line in the second-half and in fact they didn't.
Offensively they were challenged to say the least. Now look at things, they put up 27 points against Duke and follow that up with a 21 point performance against a ranked Wake Forest team. There are some harsh critics, myself
