Stop the presses!! NC State football has a two game winning streak and it’s two in a row in ACC play. The Pack beat Duke two weeks ago and followed that victory up with a second win on the year against a ranked team.
This time Wake Forest was the victim. Say what you will about a lack of talent and injury riddled season, but this Tom O’Brien team plays hard every play and never quits. I know, I know that’s the oldest cliché in the book, but for these guys it rings true. Look at the progress NCSU has made from that opener down in South Carolina in late August. Sitting up in the press box we were half joking that this team wouldn't’t make it past the 50-yard line in the second-half and in fact they didn't.
Offensively they were challenged to say the least. Now look at things, they put up 27 points against Duke and follow that up with a 21 point performance against a ranked Wake Forest team. There are some harsh critics, myself included about what direction this team is headed in, but make no mistake, Coach O’Brien knows exactly where his club is headed. The pieces are falling into place for The Pack and for the 2nd year in a row they have gotten things going at the end of the year.
Just wait until they have enough talent at the beginning of the year, and it won’t be long. Get them while you can, because The Pack is on the rise.
