Before I give you this week’s power poll in the ACC, please allow me to explain how this works. I feel very strongly about the rankings 1-12, however the comments are for entertainment purposes only. I just want to make sure everyone is clear on that. In the comments section a few weeks back a certain thin skinned fan was upset with a comment. If you were looking for Seth Davis or Andy Katz go find them at their websites. Ok on with the show.
1) North Carolina (24-2)-Tar Heels back to the “they are who we thought they were” status as ACC hands down best. Imagine how good they could be if they played some f@$%*#& defense!
2) Clemson (21-4)-Tigers a distant second to the Heels, but are atop the cluster of four teams at 7-4 in ACC play.
3) Wake Forest (20-4)-Redeemed themselves against Georgia Tech. Three of the next five will be interesting because they are all away from home including the big one Sunday night at struggling Duke.
4) Duke (20-5)-Despite struggles of late Blue Devils honored to play at MSG against St. Johns Thursday night.
5) Florida State (20-6)-The Seminoles defense is nothing to curse about, they held Hurricanes star Jack McClinton to just 13 points in a Wednesday’s win.
6) Boston College (19-8)-The Eagles had a unique promotion on Sunday when they hosted Duke. Any former player that showed up and violated a no trespassing order got arrested. Only Sean Williams of the New Jersey Nets took advantage of it.
7) Maryland (16-9)-Gary Williams Terps despite being low on talent are slowly moving up the ACC standings.
8) Virginia Tech (16-9)-I am getting concerned some of us will be accused of being criminally insane if the Hokies don’t turn this thing around.
9) NC State (14-9)-Biggest moment of State’s season will come when a certain point guard from Word of God tells us where he’s play for a year.
10) Miami (15-10)-What happened to the ‘Canes? Is this Patrick Nixes fault too?
11) Virginia (9-13)-Cavaliers making a late season run at the CBI!
12) Georgia Tech (10-15)-Imagine the words Roy Williams could use if he had to coach this team!
